About Our Work

Inflammation is a primary component of all diseases, including several musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis. Our research focuses on engineering immunomodulatory biomaterials for advancing the treatment of degenerative deseases (primarily osteoathritis) and related inflammation. We are particularly interested in the design of macrophage targeting and programmed drug delivery systems for spatially and temporally controlled biomolecule release to regulate inflammation. We employ a combination of in vitro models and pre-clinical animal models to evaluate the translational potential of these novel delivery systems.
